About SLO

As part of the Steamboat Lake Community we are able to offer a full range of lodging, dining and all kinds of recreational activities. Our many activities include: hunting, fishing, and snowmobiling, snowshoeing, cross country skiing, horseback riding, ATV tours, pack trips, and many more. We are just 24 miles north of Steamboat Springs, near Routt National Forest and the stunning Mount Zirkel Wilderness Area. Steamboat Lake Outfitters is nestled right across the road from Steamboat Lake State Park. Steamboat Lake State Park is one of Colorado's most breathtaking parks, which refreshes in the spring, invigorates in the winter and inspires in the fall. With all these stunning resources our trips do extend into these forests and parks with their gorgeous meadows laced with aspen and oak.

At Steamboat Lake Outfitters we want you to feel at home on the ranch. Our cabins are cozy and comfortable, and fit to accommodate families of all sizes. Our cabins are your home away from home.

Fall
The changing of the seasons brings the sparkling aspens to life. Fall also brings out the trophy elk and deer. Whether you are on the hunt for mountain lion, elk, black bear, or deer, Steamboat Lake Outfitters will an experience you will never forget. We offer hunting packages ranging from archery to muzzle loading, guided hunts or drop camps. Our goal is for you to have a lasting experience in the gorgeous Rocky Mountains and with our lodging accommodations nestled near premiere hunting areas you will also have the convenience of home after a long day in the woods.

Winter
If winter sports are more your taste, we offer outstanding snowmobiling in a Colorado snowmobiling haven. We average 300-500 inches of snow per year! Go straight from your cabin to over 150 miles of groomed trails. But if you enjoy a slower pace, there are also groomed trails for cross country skiing and snowshoeing within 2 miles.

Summer
During the summer we offer pack trips, the ultimate in western wilderness adventure. Head out on horseback, cook over an open fire, stop for fishing, and enjoy the wildlife. But do not think you have to go on a pack trip to experience the great fishing, hiking and boating right here with the convenience of our lodging.

There are other activities for the whole family too! Do not miss the unforgettable heart-stirring horseback rides as well as the ATV tours. Enjoy the mountain terrain either way it is sure to be something you never forget.

With our Country Store and Restaurant you will never be hungry. Our Restaurant has good home cooking that will replenish you after a day of exploring the rolling meadows and riveting vistas of Colorado. While at the Country Store you can purchase your snacks and sundries for an adventurous day on the go.
